Trouble Again
The legendary producer King Jammy was revolutionising reggae music, when he in 1983 invented the digital dancehall using computer and keyboards as a musical backdrop for his riddims. One of many artists signed to Jammy’s Waterhouse camp was the Jamaican singer King Kong and together they released the album Trouble Again back in 1986.
Backed by Super Power All Stars and Steelie & Cleavie the original album came out on vinyl and consisted of 10 tracks riding some of Jammy’s hard dancehall riddims of the time including his highly acclaimed remakes of Studio One classics like Bangarang, Death In The Arena and Cuss Cuss. These three riddims gave King Kong his biggest hits ever with Mix Up, Trouble Again and Legal. All three tunes are to be found on the new deluxe edition of Trouble Again together with three other King Kong classics. Amongst these are the money tune Para Them Paro and the matching Paranoia dub, which is a genuine Jah Shaka killer and most sought after by sound system followers.
King Kong continues to record today and have made some great recordings for Bobby Konders/Massive B.
