Reggae One-Drop Anthems 2008
The long awaitedReggae One-Drop Anthems 2008 finally came from Greensleeves a few days ago, and I was realty excited to find out which tunes was available on the record - and I wasn't disappointed when I found out.
Reggae One-Drop Anthems is an 18 tracks treat of some of the finest productions and hits from 2008, and a quick glance on the track list leaves you no doubt, that this is a release worth waiting for. With tracks like Luciano's Trod On, Collie Buddz' Gimme Love, Tarrus Riley's Lion Paw and the cool roots hit by Busy Signal & Morgan Heritage Run Dem Weh, it simply hits right on the money. Romain Virgo's Mi Caan Sleep was to me a great surprise to hear for the first time –and an instant favorite to me. And as much as I enjoyed Virgo's excellent voice - as little did I notice the most redundant number featured on the compilation I Can Feel Your Pain by Gyptian. What-ever happened to his excellent and unique style? Now he just sounds like everybody else.
Reggae One-Drop Anthems has the most important hits of late 2007 and 2008 so far - and is simply not to be missed, unless you already have all the albums from Collie Buddz, Morgan Heritage, Busy Signal, Luciano, Tarrus Riley, Duane Stephenson and Jamelody. Then you might settle with just the download of the individual tracks that you are in lack of, is it's pretty much re-use of tracks already release by either Greensleeves and VP Records.
