Gully Sit'n
It's always a pleasure to get an album from Assassin. Not only do you get an album from an artist with an excellent flow – you also get songs packed with humorous or bittersweet lyrics. And his new album from VP Records Gully Sit'n – is not an exception.
First of all, when you get a dancehall records from VP Records – you are sure to receive numerous interludes or so-called skit's in between the lyrics. They are often very annoying, and I usually skip those, when I transfer the stuff to my MP3 player. But on Gully Sit'n – they are humorous and right on the money, which also can be said about the album's entirety. Gully Sit'n is packet with new dancehall classics like No Boring Gal, Girl Alone, Beep Out and Good Over Evil. But also new tunes like Gully Sit'n and the exceptionally well written The Pain, Assassin simply does his job well. I can honestly say, that Gully Sit'n so far is one of the best dancehall albums in 2007. Good lyrics, positive songs and a truly talented artists like Assassin – simply hits the spot.
Five earmuffs is reaching out to the man.
