31.03.09 :: One People now on iTunes
The Danish riddim team One People Productions released the first riddim on vinyl last year which was called One People Riddim.
In December a digital release came - and now you can get the album from iTunes via Yard Music - a newly founded digital distributor in Denmark.
16.03.09 :: New Release from Food Palace
The Danish reggae producer Pharfar aka Søren Schou (known primarily for Bikstok Røgsystem and Natasja's albums) has recently put out his new riddim called Collie Monster / Collie Angel.
The riddim is released on a double heavy vinyl and contains 20 tracks featuring Sizzla, Vybz Kartel, Mitch, King Kong and Natasja to mention a few.
11.03.09 :: New Album From Buju Banton
Vetetan singer and deejay Buju Banton is finally releasing his much anticipated album Rasta Got Soul on his own label Gargamel Music, Inc. Rasta Got Soul has been under the way for more than 7 years - and in 2004 the first single off the album Magic City was actually released prior to the release of Rasta Got Soul. However the album, for uncertain reasons got scrapped, and the dancehall album Too Bad was released instead.
Now Rasta Got Soul seems to be released and is slated for March 21, 2009 - and will be followed by a tour in Canada in May, Europe in June and July and USA in September & October.
We are looking forward to the release.
10.03.09 :: Summerjam 2009: Update 5
We have a treat for any reggae lover out there - who is planning on buying a ticket for Summerjam 2009. Horace Andy will be revisiting the festival - after a mindblowing concert in 2007 backed by Dub Ashanti Band. We hope this band will be backing Horace Andy again - but we are not sure.
Another big name has confirmed, as Mr. Yagga Yo - Anthony B will be perfoming again. The festival seems more and more of a contiuation of 2007 as many of the bands this year was perfoming on the festival two years ago. But this is not a shame - this is in fact - excellent - as 2007 was fantastic.
On the more local plan, the German rapper Samy Deluxe will be performing on the festival as well.
Summerjam 2009 is the 24th annual festival in Germany and the largest in Europe of its kind. This year the festival starts on Friday 3, 2009 and ends on Sunday 5, 2009. You can already buy tickets for the festival here in Denmark via Billetnet. The price in Denmark is 635 DKK and
25.02.09 :: New Album from Mavado
The new album from Mavado called Mr. Brooks... A Better Tommorrow will be available for download around the world today according to VP Records. We have already received the album - and you will be able to read our review of it on monday.
