28.09.08 :: Vegas Throws In The Towel
It has comed to somewhat of a shock for us that Mr. Vegas after 11 years in the business has thrown in the towel, and decides to quite music for good.
A while ago Vegas planned to quite the carrer, and when he suffered an attack from pericarditis and gastroesophageal reflux, the doctores adviced him to slow down. Vegas assures that his illness has nothing to to with his carrer move - but this has just not turned out the way it was supposed to be - and that is why he simply quit.
We at reggaeXplosion are very sorry to hear this news - and we hope that a few years in the shade of showbusiness might do him good - and will make him return to the scene again. We are confident that this is not the last thing we hear from the hitmaker Vegas.
25.09.08 :: Firehouse Sound In The Finals
The Danish digital dons Firehouse Sound has for the last three years been a major player on the Danish reggae scene, with their die hard attitude and their uncomprimising digital dancehall style.
Besides being one of the hottest sound systems in Denmark - Firehouse Sound are also doing a few productions on the side - and one of these productions is about to hit Denmark.
Being estremely true-to-the-roots of digital Dancehall - the songs we're talking about is the anthem Du Får Ik' Punani which which is Danish for (You Won't Get Any Punaany) and performed by Lady Smita - a tune for all the guys who thinks they can buy off a woman with a few drinks and bag of smokes.
Du Får Ik' Punani is in the finals for the talent radio show Karrierekanonen on national radio, which is a competition open for all genres. Check out the tune one Firehouse's MySpace site.
Congratulations from the RXP, with what seems to be another milestone for Danish dancehall
25.09.08 :: Elephant Man Concert Canceled
The Elephant Man concert at Loppen on October 17, has been cancelled due to the venues fear of pressure from gay-rights organisations in Denmark.
This means, that the concerts has been canceled without protests - but just the fear of possible protests and because the venue cannot accept Elephant Man's anti-gay songs from his early career.
