22.02.10 :: Island Clash 2010
This years "Island Clash" held at the annualt Öland Roots Festival will be a blast, as three fine sounds of Scandinavia will battle to get the title of Island Champion 2010.
The tree fine sounds this year are: FIREHOUSE (DK) vs STEREO STEPPERS (SWE) vs JAH ARK MANIFEST (NO) and the event will be hosted by Malmö sound SAFARI.
So pack your gear and sattle up - dubplates ahead!
11.02.10 :: Silkeborg Reggae Festival Closes
Bad news for the Danish reggae community was confirmed yesterday, after several days of rumors among the fans. The only Danish reggae festival officially called "Silkeborg Reggae Festival" but simply nicknames "Raggapak" was confirmed closed by the operator and manager Nick Sangil.
Four years ago, Nick and a handful for friends started what became the only reggae festival in Denmark packed with local artists (most only paid in food) as well as a few larger names. But the lack of tickets sold and general bad infrastructure simply made the festival non-profitable, and due to lack of money and personal debts, the festival had to close.
10.02.10 :: New Riddim from Foodpalace Music
The production team behind Food Palace Music, Fresh I and Pharfar has created a new riddim called "Alis" which features local artists like: Mandingo, Jah Bobby, Cornstick, Mission, Jah Turban, Paps, Karen Mukupa, Chin, Ilawy, Chris (BliGlad), Wendy Wonder, Mystic, Philip Manteufel and Tuco, but also more well known artists such as Mykal Rose, Flourgun & Johnny and King Kong.
The riddim has been build in Copenhagen, and well be released soon on the Danish records label Juicyhalftone Records.
31.01.10 :: Possible New Album from Mystic
One of Denmarks most promising singjays Mysic is apparently working on a new album in close collaboration with Alec Burton of Burton Records
Mysic and Burton has been working close together for quite some time, which has resulted in a vast amount of singles available on iTunes and such.
We have no knews about the album yet, but you will know, when we know more...
18.01.10 :: Ras Adam debut album?
Unconfirmed news are, that the Danish conscious artists Ras Adam is working on and selv-produced albums in his Highly-I studio, based in Copenhagen.
We are in possesion of one of the tracks, and it has proved that Danish reggae is becoming better and better.
The album is slated for a release in the fall of 2010.
