02.09.09 :: R.I.P. Steely
It's with great sorrow that we can inform you that the producer and musician Steely from the duo Steely & Clevie passed away yesterday due to an heart attack in a hospital in Long Island, New York. Wycliffe 'Steely' Johnson was recovering from kidney complications and suffered pneumonia as the heart attack struck him.
Steely & Clevie are among the most repected producers in Jamaica with numerous 12" and 7" released during the last 20 years put out on either their Steely & Clevie label or the equally known Studio 2000 label. They have worked with local stars like Shabba Ranks, Beenie Man, Capleton, Buju Banton - as well is international starts like No Doubt and KRS-1.
Our condolences goes out the the familes and friends of Steely. May he rest in peace!

10.08.09 :: Alpha Blondy Hits Copenhagen

Alpha Blondy rose to instant fame worldwide with the legendary Jerusalem album recorded with The Wailers in Tuff Gong Studio in Kingston Jamaica. The recording was to our knowledge the last recording with the original drummer Carlton Barret, who believes to be the inventor of the one drop style used in roots reggae all over the world.
Alpha Blondy hardly needs any introduction to the reggae fan in Europe as he has performed and toured almost continously during the last two decared to the please of thousands of reggae fans.
The concert is arranged by Shelby Production.
